About HSE Research Projects Directory
HSE Research Projects is an on-line information resource for HSE's research
activity. HSE’s key research objective is to implement an integrated programme
of projects that address both specific and generic occupational health and
safety issues across the entire spectrum of HSC/E responsibilities as a
regulatory body. Results from research projects are used in the development of
Regulations, Codes of Practice, standards setting, evaluation of risk control
measures, negotiation of International Directives, evaluation of policy options
and for ad hoc advice on health and safety issues.
The searchable on-line resource gives background information, objectives and
contact details for current and recently completed research. It is regularly
updated to provide accurate information on HSE's research activity. In
addition, the discussion area linked to project entries offers the facility for
individuals/groups to register comments on particular pieces of research and
associated reports. The discussion area is one of several advanced
features only accessible to registered users. To register you must agree
to the web sites terms and conditions.
Associated resources
The projects directory also gives information on associated document resources,
primarily research reports, related to an individual project. Wherever possible
the associated resource field gives a direct link to the relevant report.
However, where this is not possible, the field will give the research report
number or the title of the relevant document. All research reports are listed
in numerical order on the publications pages of the HSE S&I website.
Research reports in the mainstream area will have the prefix CRR, for reports
published before 2002 and RR for subsequent reports. Reports in the offshore
area, published before 2002 , will have the prefixes OTO,OTH or OTI. From 2002
all HSE research reports have been published in the RR series.
